His knowledge of African rhythms and drumming started at the age of 5, where every member of family played several different instruments. He was blessed to grow up in a family of Griots, a West African historian, storyteller, poet and/or musician. In the last 22 years he has gained knowledge of teaching many rhythms, dances, and song from Mali, Guinea, and Senegal, as well as in the U.S. and internationally. This knowledge allowed him to become a spirited and vibrant Master Percussionist. He also has become a multi-talented artist, composer, choreographer and band leader throughout the U.S. and the rest of the world. Gayndeey Band is a West African dance and drumming organization led by M'Baye. Their mission is to provide the community with the knowledge and education of African culture by means of West African music, dance, and language.
