Lincoln Ave. KIN — Rodney Crowell & Mary Karr w/ Special Guest Steuart Smith $30 General Public/$28 Old Town School Members/$26 Seniors & Children BOX OFFICE: 773.728.6000 Grammy Award-winner Rodney Crowell and New York Times best-selling author Mary Karr (The Liar's Club) are scheduled to release an album produced by Joe Henry called Kin, which marks the first collaboration between these two masterful storytellers and is Karr's entry into the world of music. Long known as a poet among songwriters, Crowell is a masterful storyteller and hit generator. He charted five consecutive number-one hits with the album Diamonds and Dirt and has become one of the most critically acclaimed artists in country music. Crowell's songs have been recorded by the likes of Johnny Cash, Rosanne Cash, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, and Norah Jones. He was recently inducted into the Songwriter Hall of Fame between Willie Nelson and Guy Clark. Mary Karr is an award-winning poet, best selling memoirist and an unstoppable force in the literary world. Her works have been embraced with an avalanche of rave reviews from nearly every major newspaper in the country. Her memoirs Lit, Cherry, and The Liar's Club were all best sellers. The latter spent over a year on The New York Times Bestsellers list and kick-started the memoir craze. Karr has taught at Harvard and Syracuse University, where she still holds a chair in literature. She is the recipient of numerous fellowships and awards, including a Guggenheim, a Radcliffe Bunting Fellowship, The Whiting Writer's Award, and a Pushcart Prize. Karr adds yet another title, songwriter, to her pedigree with the release of KIN.
