Szold Music & Dance Hall 4545 North Lincoln Avenue Box Office: 773.728.6000 Tickets: $18 General Public, $16 Members RE|Dance Group's new dance theater work Homeland explores ideas surrounding the physical, emotional, and intellectual paradigms of home. Company member Daiva Bhandari beautifully delivers a series of narrative and personal allegories to create text, which supports the piece. The music for Homeland includes American folk songs by the fiddle band Fiddlers 4 and the Wailin' Jennys. “Enormously enjoyable, a crafty bit of dance-theater with a decided accent on the dance.” - Sid Smith, “Dance work that blends lines between abstract and representational, inner and outer worlds, and does so with fascinating choreography and expertly executed dancing.” - Rob Hubbard, Twin Cities Pioneer Press RE|Dance Group was established in 2009 by creative partners, Lucy Riner and Michael Estanich. Focusing on dance theatre works that explore personal, intimate human relationships, the company has received critical praise from audiences and critics throughout the country. The company enjoys an open process where all ideas are shared, investigated, and crafted into dances that embody a heightened physical experience rich with emotional content and dramatic imagery. The work reflects a rigorous inquiry into the body's capability for expression through motion and movement - from the subtle to the immense. The group's creative process is an ever evolving dynamic between intention, honesty, intuition and play. Photo by Ozzie Ramsay
